The Sand Key Civic Association is planning a public “block party” on the island April 17, 2010. Dubbed “The First Annual Springfest”, the fun will take place at the Shoppes of Sand Key. A big tent will be the center of live entertainment, arts and crafts, food and refreshments from noon to 7 PM.

Without much fanfare, the bridge and boat ramp appear to be open. The area around the boat ramp is impressive with plenty of parking for cars and boat trailers. The fishing pier and docks are large and seem to be fully functional. The quiet opening was just the simple removal of barricades that prevented access. |
