The plans for the Sand Key Civic Association’s Springfest are shaping up for a great day on the island. Al “Coffee” McDaniels, a well known local The Sand Key Civic Association is planning a public “block party” on the island April 17, 2010. Dubbed “The First Annual Springfest”, the fun will take place at the Shoppes of Sand Key. A big tent will be the center of live entertainment, arts and crafts, food and refreshments from noon to 7 PM. On Tuesday March 9, 2010 we again get to exercise our rights under the Constitution and elect officials, vote on material issues and make our individual voice heard through the ballot box. Check with your local community for times and location; in Belleair Bluffs the Community Center is the polling place from 7 AM to [...] Monday night, February 16, 2010 there is a meeting for concerned citizens and businesses to examine a crime watch program in Belleair Bluffs. The meeting being held at 5:30 PM, City Hall, will explore the need and recent spurt of vandalism within the city. Without much fanfare, the bridge and boat ramp appear to be open. The area around the boat ramp is impressive with plenty of parking for cars and boat trailers. The fishing pier and docks are large and seem to be fully functional.
